    "content": "From the outset, let me thank all the Members of the Committee for their input and valuable contribution during the deliberations and vetting of the nominees. The first nominee, Dr. Salome Wanjiku Gichura, holds a PhD in Education Management, a Masters Degree in Education Administration and a Bachelor of Education Degree. Currently, she is the Director of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Having spent 35 years in the education sector, she has vast experience in teachers’ management. Her CV is attached to this report. She comes in when the damning report, namely the Uwezo Report 2012, has just been released and this report touches on the dwindling quality of education. These findings have painted a gloomy picture of the state of education in Kenya. As a country, we ought to ask ourselves very serious questions as to what has changed in our education sector."
