Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources regarding the constant flooding of lakes Baringo, Bogoria, Nakuru and Victoria, lately. A number of schools, roads, dispensaries and homes have been submerged due to swelling of waters in those lakes, resulting in loss of livelihoods for the families and the people living around there. The Chairperson should inquire into and find out the position of the Government Departments responsible for flooding, which has affected the people living around those lakes."
