The new Motion now reads as follows:- THAT, aware that Kenyans living in counties in arid areas are pastoralists who depend on livestock for their livelihood; concerned that over the years, pastoralist communities have continued to suffer loss of their animals due to diseases that are preventable; cognizant of the fact that efforts by past Governments to address the problem have not yielded desirable results; the Senate urges the National Government to urgently put in place an effective policy to create livestock disease free zones in pastoralist areas. Sen. Obure."
