(Prof.) Lonyangapuo for the initiative that he has taken to bring this Motion here. I also want to thank the Senator for Machakos for introducing the amendment which extends the impact of this Motion to other communities that are affected in a similar way. Madam Temporary Speaker, what was initially intended to be a blessing to this nation – the electricity project at Turkwel Gorge – has actually turned out to be a curse to the local community.
