    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this very important Motion. I stand to support this Motion which is very important because it is calling upon our Government to declare drug abuse and alcohol as a national disaster. Before we do that, we need to go into the root cause of why people or our youths resort to drugs. First and foremost, it is because they are idle and are not engaged in gainful employment. This problem needs to be tackled at county level. That is where we find that our youths do not have employment and in most cases when they wake up in the morning, they do not have anything to do. What they do is get into groups and before they realize it, they will be taking drugs which leads to addiction. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
