"content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I also want to thank the Assistant Minister for the answer, but I do not know whether he looked at the answer before he read it out to the House. This is because he has contradicted himself. In his answer to part “a” of the Question, he says that companies do not control private cane farmers while in his answer to part “b” of the Question he says that sugar companies intercept cane. Why do they intercept cane if they do not control the farmers? To make matters worse, in his answer to part “c” of the Question he says that proceeds from the intercepted cane are paid to contracted farmers’ accounts. Who are these farmers if the sugar cane you intercept does not belong to the contracted farmers?"
