I want to thank the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Clerk of the National Assembly for respecting the provisions of Standing Orders of the National Assembly. Standing Order No.142 of the Lower House dictates that the Speaker and the Clerk of the National Assembly must bring this message to this House. I want to thank them and hope that the Speaker in his ruling will prevail over the Members of the National Assembly. I would like to encourage our compatriots in the Lower House to take time and read, not just the letter of the Constitution, but also attempt to understand the spirit of this particular Constitution. Very many Senators have talked to the various Articles and there is no need for me to repeat. However, I want to encourage them to read Articles 205, 209, 210, 217 and 218. Once they read those articles, even their fears that they are being demeaned will be put to rest.
