"content": "The human-wildlife conflict is found mostly where we have national parks and game reserves. In my county there is a place called Mwakitau where this problem is rampant and it does not seem it is coming to an end. In fact, KWS has most times been accused of encroaching into our land. They have not managed to fence off the wildlife area to protect our people from elephants. As we make all the efforts to try and curb poverty and hunger, we are still contributing to the same. Instead of coming up with solutions, we are contributing to the problem. When farmers lose their crops, their families go hungry. It should be mandatory that as we employ rangers to protect wildlife we also ensure that we have rangers stationed where farmers border the game reserves and national parks, so that they provide protection to farmers throughout the weeding period and harvesting period, so that we do not suffer losses. We are looking forward to having that Bill in the House. If figures have not been captured then we need to ensure that we introduce amendments to the Bill to ensure that our farmers get the compensation they deserve. With those few remarks I support the Motion as amended."
