    "content": "Yes, I belong to the Committee. I just wanted, for efficient operations of this Committee, when matters of Statements arise, if you look at Standing Order No.43, the request is made to the Chairman of the Committee which is mandated with those particular responsibilities, but under those Standing Orders, there is no requirement that the matter is placed before the Committee. I am saying this as a member of that Committee because the issues have not arisen in the Committee although I have tremendous confidence in the leadership of that Committee. For better operation of this Committee, there should be an understanding that once a request is made to the Chairperson of that particular Committee, then the Committee should be seized of the matter because there is no such thing under the Standing Orders. This matter also arose at some time when a member of the Opposition was required to give a Statement on behalf of the Government because these statements are made on behalf of the Government.
