    "content": "Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the Motion. First of all, I would like to commend the Mover and Seconder for bringing such a very important Motion to this House. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, according to the Kenya Institute of Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), we are told that the textile industry was at its peak performance in 1984, when the cotton industry at that time was producing over 70 bales which were then supplied to the domestic textile industry. During that time, we had 52 textile mills in this country.
