    "content": "Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. Pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c), I hereby request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology regarding the illegal management of schools by the Board of Governors whose terms of office have expired. Hon. Speaker, the Education Act clearly states that the tenure of the Board of Governors should be three years. Most of the schools around the country are yet to appoint new board members. There has been an order from the Ministry which in essence aims at evading the process. In the Statement the Chairperson should inquire into and report on the reasons for impeding the process of appointment of Board of Governors and why the Ministry of Education, Research and Technology has allowed schools to be run by boards whose term has elapsed.
