    "content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I support the amendment that has been put forward by the hon. Member for Ainamoi. Indeed, as I had said, examinations should not be viewed as punishment. We have so many pupils in Standard Eight who sit for exams but they never transit to the next level and this leads to wastage. I feel that if we can allow those who do exams to get to the next level without saying that we are scrapping away K.C.P.E exams, we will be moving education to a higher level. Examinations usually categorize high achievers and average students. But the average students should not be viewed as wastage. If they can be allowed to proceed, they could become good in other careers not necessarily as academicians."
