    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to speak, not only as a Member of Parliament, but also as the Chairman of the Committee on Equal Opportunity in this House. From the outset, I want to say that this list as it is, these three nominees, are equal opportunity compliant. We have a distinguished lady. We have been looking forward to a lady assuming a very important responsibility in this country. We also have a distinguished Kenyan from a minority group. This is what we have been looking for; for a minority group in this country to be given an opportunity to serve on behalf of Kenyans, not on behalf of the community he comes from. The Constitution recognizes the rights of minorities in this country."
