"content": "ARTICLE 107 (1) OF THE CONSTITUTION Maybe, before Sen. (Prof.) Lonyangapuo responds, I beg to leave the Chair because I have an appointment which is for the good of the Senate. The Deputy Speaker is away on official business and the two Members of the Chairperson’s panel are also away on official business, including Sen. Ongoro who has just left. So, I will propose that according to Standing Order No.18, the Senate elects a Member to preside. Standing Order No. 18 states as follows: Presiding in the Senate - 18. The Speaker shall preside at any sitting of the Senate but in the absence of the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker shall preside and in the absence of the Deputy Speaker, pursuant to Article 107 (1) (c) another Senator elected by the Senate for that purpose shall preside”. I am therefore looking for nominations. Sen. (Prof.) Lonyangapuo!"
