Standing Order No. 97(3) reads:- “If the Speaker is of the opinion that a dilatory Motion is an abuse of the proceedings of the Senate, the Speaker may forthwith put the question thereon or decline to propose it.” I am satisfied that we have always maintained sobriety as a House. I think that there is no harm in allowing a bit more time in order to do more consultations. If those consultations fail, this House is still available to you to proceed with the Motion.
