Some Government employees who were hired more than six months ago have not received their first salaries to date; despite having served for the legal probationary period of six months. Government departments have taken advantage of the new recruits to extend the probationary period beyond six months without the consent of employees, contrary to Section 42(2) of the Employment Act of 2007.
