    "content": "Secondly, I am concerned that the Member for Chuka/Igambang'ombe has put in a condition for a requirement of the EIA for the lifting of that suspension. I really wish he had come to the meeting; it was made very clear to us that there is an agreement between KFS and NEMA that no EIAs should take place for clearing of plantation forests. I just want to note that, given the response we have received, the EIA requirement has been waived following the out of court settlement. The reality is that an EIA should have been done when establishing the forest and not when harvesting the forest which the Government has invested in for many years."
