    "content": "Hon. Speaker, I personally take exception to a comment that was made by hon. Mbadi. Of course, he was on a point of order. So, I could not raise another point of order. He said that my Committee may not have been the committee to come up with an agreement between the stakeholders and the Committee. What perhaps he does not know is that we spent 10 hours, trying to sort out those issues between the Committee on one hand and the Media Owners Association and other stakeholders on the other hand. Negotiations went on up to as late as yesterday, at around 1.00 p.m. That is complete commitment. We wanted to make sure that we arrived at a position that was agreeable to all the parties involved. The issue of quorum in this House must be addressed. What hon. Mbadi and the rest of the Members were talking about yesterday and this morning – the issue of two- thirds majority – is basically the reason as to why the Committee decided to withdraw the amendments, so that we can bring them back to the House for consideration in the near The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
