Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, clause 39 be amended in sub-clause (1) by inserting the words “and approval of the National Assembly” immediately after the words “consultation”. This is, again, to ensure that we do not have declarations in the Gazette without the approval of the National Assembly. Just to note, my Committee is dealing with two Statement requests, where hon. Members are saying that there was no consultation in the gazettement of some forest reserves. So, we want to avoid a similar scenario for national parks. So, we want to ensure that the powers of the Cabinet Secretary are only exercised upon the approval of the House."
