The issue of sugar in this country is one that is known to every Kenyan because earlier there used to be some kind of quota for COMESA countries to supplement their shortage of production in their countries but it is just about 200,000 metric tonnes. We are aware of the excess sugar in the country and even millers cannot sell it in the market. That affects the farmers as well. However, we shall report the same to the Ministry and give the answer within the next two weeks."
