    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, we also have our brothers and sisters, who were displaced when the teachers’ pay award agreed between the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and the Government was under implementation. This group of senior citizens needs also to be cushioned, and I have therefore, allocated Kshs3.3 billion as the first disbursement of an enhanced retirement entitlement benefits towards social protection for this vulnerable group. This will increase the monthly pensions payable to our retired teachers, and thereby improve their welfare."
