Speaker, in the Statement the Chairperson should inquire into and report on:- (i) the capacity of the KMC to offset the money owed to farmers as soon as possible, given that most of the farmers took loans from banks and are now having their properties auctioned; (ii) whether the Government is ready to bail out the Commission as it has done with the others as it has done with other State corporations like the Agriculture Finance Corporation (AFC) and the Agriculture Development Corporation (ADC); (iii) the plans the Government has to establish financial schemes which are accessible to farmers, particularly the pastoralists and livestock groups, to enable them trade in the livestock business; it should advance some money to the AFC so livestock farmers are paid on time; and, (iv) the status of the Kshs100 million allocated to the Credit Finance Corporation during the last recorded drought to bail out livestock farmers, particularly pastoralists."
