Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I would like to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing on the construction of the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway bypass from the Stem Hotel to the Njoro Turn-off. The Chairperson should inquire into and report on the following:- (i) the length and route map of the bypass; (ii) details on the design of the road, the scope of work and the cost of the project; (iii) whether a tender has been awarded and if so, what the commencement and completion dates of the projects are; and, (iv) the number of people who will be displaced by the project and the plan for compensating them."
