    "content": "There is more than meets the eye, if you look at what the Government is doing at the moment. Not much is being done to protect the farmer and in the sugar industry. We are talking about thousands of employment opportunities and income to a majority of Kenyans in the western region. Therefore, I kindly want to plead with this House to consider removing VAT on sugar cane transportation. Ideally, cane price is derived currently from the market price, but the reverse should really be the case. We should be deriving the market price from the cane price input, which is the only way to have our people make anything in terms of pricing."
