    "content": "(Sen. (Dr.) Machage): Hon. Senators, as you may be aware, the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has awarded a contract for the construction of a modern office block in an effort to ensure that Members and staff of Parliament are adequately facilitated with a good working environment. The office block will be constructed at the current car park of Continental House. The construction site was handed over to the contractor on 16th January, 2014 and the contractor is now ready to move on site. To create space for the construction work, the parking space at Continental House will be closed with effect from Monday, 24th March, 2014. Hon. Senators, therefore, alternative and additional car parking space has been leased at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), COMESA grounds. This parking, together with the visitors’ car park at the Main Parliament Buildings, shall be reserved for Members of Parliament. This is to request Members to cooperate with the Serjeant-at-arms to ensure that the construction site is vacated and made available to the contractor before Monday, 24th March, 2014. Thank you."
