Where the applicant qualifies for exemption, the Commissioner issues the person with a certificate of exemption for a period of three years renewable within 30 days. To date, a total 1,348 PWDs have been granted tax exemption up to a maximum of Kshs150,000 per month, and the exercise is still ongoing."
