Speaker, on 21st November, 2013, the Committee invited the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and Infrastructure to shed light on the issues surrounding the tendering and the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway. Subsequently, on 9th January, 2014, the Committee held a sitting and deliberated on the way forward on the Statement sought by the Member for Nyali Constituency, hon. Awiti, following immense public interest the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway project had attracted. The following are submissions and documentary evidence provided by witnesses.
