    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I was actually contributing about the importance of adult education in this country, when the Motion for Adjournment by Sen. Hassan came. I was relating it actually to the implications that education has on the health of the nation. I was actually speaking at that time about the fact that studies have shown that if a population has basic education, the maternal and infant mortality rates will be remarkably reduced. This is simply because the educated mothers will appreciate from reading about maternal care, the importance of attending clinics. Also, if our traditional birth attendants have basic education, they will appreciate much better issues of maternal complications during pregnancy. Therefore, they will refer in good time and detect the complications that will face the pregnant mother under their care."
