    "content": "Thank you, hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. Pursuant to Standing Order No.44 (2) (c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing on the development of road infrastructure network in the country. Hon. Speaker, road infrastructure is critical for the economic development of the country. However, the development of roads in the country has been undertaken in a discriminative manner, which has seen most parts of the country left out. In the Statement, the Chairperson should inquire into and report on:- (i) the number of kilometres of all the classified roads in the country and state how many kilometres of the same are tarmacked; (ii) provide a list of constituencies/counties with tarmacked roads as well as the ones for ongoing projects across the country; and (iii) the plans the Government has to address inequality in the development of road infrastructure in the country.
