"content": "I applaud that finding because it shows that we have that role. If we negate the role of oversight as Senators, then devolution will have its own challenges. I say so now in the context of what we call the separation of powers. I know many governors would want to say that Senate is over asserting itself or that we are interfering with the separation of powers. Separation of powers is a constitutional provision. I want to surmise that, in my opinion, the separation of powers in the current dispensation and level of development of The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
