Speaker, Pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations regarding the recent establishment of the Nairobi Metropolitan Command by the Kenya Defence Forces that was created to address terrorism threats in the country. In the Statement, I would like the Chairperson to inquire into and report on the terms of reference of the command and the command structure of this Force. He should also clarify how this Force is linked to the Kenya Police Service and the value that it will add to this nation, especially after what we saw at the Westgate."
