    "content": "Finally, the Board wishes to further point out that, while the enrolment at the university has been growing at an exponential rate, the same cannot be said of the financial resources whose supply cannot match the growth in the demand. The allocation by the Government has been constantly on a declining trend in financing higher education due to other competing demands, especially from the national Treasury. For example, in the 2012/2013 Academic Year, the Board received Kshs2.3 billion. In 2013/2014, it received the same amount despite the increase in Government admissions by over 13,300 students. That is despite a funding requirement of Kshs7.4 billion and Kshs14 million under differentiated unit cross model for the years 2012/2013 and 2013/2014, respectively. Without additional funding, it will be difficult for the Board to adequately meet the ever growing demand by the students."
