"content": "Kenyan policy, most Members here will bear me witness, that we are trying to encourage value addition. So, when we say that we export unprocessed Macadamia, we are trying to kill what we are always advocating for, and that is value addition. So, there is no company that has been told to process Macadamia. So, what we are saying is this: We can encourage the people from Meru to start the processing of Macadamia so that they can be purchasing the commodity at a good price and export them when they are already processed. Otherwise, if we encourage people to export raw Macadamia, then we will kill our processing industries and that will mean that we will have a high rate of unemployment. So, I would encourage the people of Meru to open a factory where they can process Macadamia and employ the people of Meru and others from all over the Republic so that we can export actually processed and not raw Macadamia. The Government is not thinking of revoking the ban. It is trying to encourage other people to come in, invest and process Macadamia. Thank you."
