"content": "Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I am happy to stand and second the Persons with Disability (Amendment) Bill. I would like to state that television is the only channel that the deaf people can get information. It is unfortunate that if deaf persons do know how to read, they can only know what is happening through television as modes of transmission in the world. Our Constitution is very clear on the Bill of rights and it gives right to information to all people, regardless of gender, race or disability. Blind people can listen to news, people with other sorts of disabilities can read and some of them can even listen to news. But the deaf people are left out because they cannot hear what people say. I want to support this Bill because if we do not amend it, the deaf people in our society will continue to be denied the right to information. Therefore, I second the amendment. Thank you.
