    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to seek a Statement from the Chairman of the Committee on Education with regard to Engineering Degree Courses offered by the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM). The TUM admitted the first batch of students for the engineering degree course in January, 2009. At that time, it was a polytechnic and not a university because it was operating as a campus of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). The engineering degree courses were word for word the JKUAT syllabus."
