    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, when he sought the Statement he was a Member of the Committee. Members of the Committee appreciated the weight of the subject matter because of its importance to the nation in terms of the policy on public school fees. Many schools over time have increased the levies and fees without adhering to the fees guidelines. The Statement sought to find out, one, whether the Government was aware of this and whether it was doing anything to ensure that these guidelines are adhered to. So, Sen. Karaba requested for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Education, Information and Technology, relating to the national Government policy on public school fees structure, with specific reference to the following:- (a) Whether the Cabinet Secretary is aware that the guidelines provided by the Government on how much fees public schools should charge are not followed to the letter; and, The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate."
