    "content": " Hon. Senators, I have a short Communication to make. I wish to report to the Senate that pursuant to Standing Order No.40 (3) and (4), I have received the following Message from the Speaker of the National Assembly regarding the rejection by the Assembly of the Division of Revenue Bill (National Assembly Bill No.13 of 2014). The Message reads as follows:- Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Orders Nos.41 and 149 of the National Assembly, I hereby convey the following Message from the National Assembly: Whereas the Division of Revenue Bill (National Assembly Bill No.13 of 2014) which was published in the Kenya Gazette Supplement No.13 of 26th March, 2014 as a Bill originating in the National Assembly and passed by the National Assembly on 23rd April, 2014 and passed by the Senate with amendments on 15th May, 2014; Whereas the Senate forwarded its amendments to the Division of Revenue Bill (National Assembly Bill No.13 of 2014) on 3rd June, 2014 for the concurrence of the National Assembly; Whereas the National Assembly on 18th June, 2014 rejected the amendments to the said Bill; Now, thereof, in accordance with Article 112(1)(a) of the Constitution and Standing Order No.149 of the National Assembly, I hereby convey the said decision of the National Assembly, the consequence of which the Bill stands referred to a mediation committee. Hon. Senators, Article 112(1)(b) of the Constitution provides that: The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
