    "content": "To stem the rising rate of crime in the area, police have started profiling criminals operating in Meru Town and its environs in liaison with the Prisons Department that is helping to track down criminals discharged from prison. Police are also working closely with other agencies like the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and the public through the Nyumba Kumi Initiative to enhance collection of intelligence. Random checks through road blocks and patrols have also been enhanced."
