My grandfather came here as bonded labourer to build the railway; it is the best thing that is going to happen to us; I am talking about the new (SGR). There are questions as to whether the Chinese are bringing here criminals or prisoners. We do not really care. All we want to see is that the railway is built as quickly and as cheaply as possible. I support the railway. I am the grandchild of a railway labourer and Kisumu came to be due to the railway, and so we support it."
