Speaker, an attempt has been made to reverse this in the Financial Year 2014/2015 Budget through the budgetary allocation of Kshs260 million as a Government contribution to joint procurement of vaccines under KAVI. This will ensure that procurement of those vaccines remain harmonized. However, Government contribution for procurement of vaccines outside KAVI has not been factored and the arrangement with development partners who provide bulk of the funding will be upset. Funds for procurement of all drugs used in the county health facilities are held by the respective counties and it is, therefore, challenging to harmonize procurement.
