    "content": "will also give certainty to the Transition Authority so that we do not have the push and pull that we have witnessed on so many occasions in as far as that important body is concerned. However, bringing the point closer home, I also find that there is an intention to have the Crops Act amended. It is good to note that although this Act was enacted, it has not been put into operation. If you may look at my Miraa Report which is the next one to be debated, one of the recommendations that the Committee has made is to seek amendment to the Crops Act to have miraa as a scheduled crop. To me, this is a golden opportunity that I intend to use to seek the approval of this House to have that amendment carried so that miraa can also be considered as one of the cash crops within that definition of the “scheduled crops”. We need to bring miraa in so that the Government can come in and take charge of the production, marketing and the consumption of miraa. Otherwise, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I support.
