    "content": "Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 76 be amended by deleting Sub-clause (2). First of all, Clause 76(1) says, “Except as provided in this section, a promise by a person to marry another person is not binding”. Sub-clause (2) continues to say, “Despite Sub-section (1), damages may be recoverable by a party that suffers a loss when the other party refuses to honour a promise to marry.” The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
