    "content": "Hon. Speaker, the situation in the area is scaring, with about 50,000 people affected by the on-going drought. The communities in that area comprise mainly of pastoralists, who are now moving to the neighbouring Nyeri and Samburu counties in search of pastures, leaving their families behind to face the ravages of the drought. Further, Laikipia North does not benefit at all from the World Food Programme despite the fact that the area does not receive sufficient food supplies from the Department of Special Programmes."
