Pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2) (c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology regarding the online loan application systems failure at the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB). The systems at HELB have now been down for the last three months. Students have been unable to access online application forms to apply for the student loans. As a result, many of them are unable to pay their fees and risk their respective institutions taking action against them for failure to pay the fees.
