I want to plead with the Chair of the Departmental Committee not to withdraw his amendment that provides for the nomination to the Board by the NYC and the National Gender and Equal Opportunity Commission (NG&EOC). I think that when the Committee was looking at the matter, they must have realised that we must remove the provision for nomination on Board by Cabinet Secretaries – which we have been doing in this House regularly on all other matters. I think when they looked at these two particular bodies, they realized that those are the two representatives."
