    "content": "Over the recent past, many local construction firms have collapsed. Some have been deregistered while others have even been downgraded. On the other hand, we also know that the construction industry has experienced substantial growth over the years. In the latest economic survey, the industry posted the second highest growth rate of 14 per cent, only exceeded by tourism. However, despite this substantial growth, the industry faces many challenges. Among the challenges is the fact that today many major works are being undertaken by foreign firms. This is not necessarily a welcome move and it is something that we feel should be addressed over time. This happens because we do not have adequate capacity in the local construction industry."
