    "content": "Thank you hon. Deputy Speaker. Pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Chairperson, Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare regarding distribution of Government relief food, carried out as a special programme through the former office of the District Commissioner, currently the Deputy County Commissioner. Due to drought and other humanitarian crises all over the country, many Kenyans continue to be vulnerable to starvation, thus requiring relief food. The most vulnerable are children, the very poor, orphans, the elderly and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). In the Statement, the Chairperson should inquire and report on the status of the distribution of relief food from the Government to the vulnerable persons in the country."
