Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I wish to move an amendment by removing the words “in equal shares irrespective” in lines two and three and replace thereof with the words “according to”. Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, this is so that if there is any property to be divided, then it must be in accordance with the share of each spouse’s contribution to the matrimonial property. This will ensure that no one person just sits and waits for the other person to acquire property and then claim half of it."
