    "content": "As I speak, the police are seen not to be friendly at all. Sometimes they are accused of being trigger-happy. They are considered very rude. This is part of the reforms that will make them friendlier to the citizens and deliver services efficiently. During our interaction, we borrowed so much from reports that were written by Ransley Kriegler, Waki and many other reports that have been written in this country about the police. The Committee also received memorandum from private persons and in particular, we were also looking at the issue of the quarrels that were going on between the Police Commissioner and the Inspector-General of Police. The recent controversies between the Inspector-General and the National Police Service over the perceived duplication of roles were also ironed out. The Bill addresses the issue of overlap to ensure that mandates are very clear so that each office carries out its work without the interference of another office."
