Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c), I hereby request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural Resources concerning the Masinga/Kitui Water Supply Project. The project was initiated by the Government. It is being funded by the Government of Kenya and the African Development Bank. It is meant to benefit the whole of Kitui and Machakos counties. However, the project has since been stopped by residents from Masinga Constituency. The contractor can no longer access the site to continue with the works."
